Childhood lasts all through life. It returns to animate broad sections of adult life. . . . Poets will help us to find this living childhood within us, this permanent, durable immobile world.---Gaston Bachelard

Grown up, and that is a terribly hard thing to do. It is much easier to skip it and go from one childhood to another.

Odd isn't it, when we're children we can't wait to grow up and when we're grown up we wish we could be children again...

I abdicated a long time ago..enjoy.!!

Gosh Sharon... when I saw the title of this thread, I thought you were quitting Passions! Passions without you would be like a grilled cheese without... cheese. (Wow, that's creative! LOL)

Sharon, I thought the same thing as Erica!
Passions would be toast without you!

and the first committee of the non-existent legislature will be to hand out cookies [all kinds imaginable] and ice-cold milk [and M&M's] at 3:30...just because that seems to be the right time...[all the while I will be praying that "Resig-nation" isn't just a fig-newton of my imagination]

Hmmm...looks like we had better get to designing and implementing the Patented DeVine Driver's Seat, the one with a built in toilet and alternative fuel compression source for that trip to Sturgis....

OK Sharon I am coming with you but I want to be 19 so I can still drink in pubs. Other than that I also want the "litte prince" style lifestyle you described. Lead the way
to the PLAY GROUND. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

why must we pray
screaming? why must not death be redefined? we shut our eyes we stretch out our arms and whirl on a pane of glass-patti smith

Poet deVine, and Nan... may I present, for approval, one RESIG-National anthem for those of us who just want to resign???

(Sung to 'America the Beautiful')

(First Verse)
Oh beautiful, the time has come
Such freedom we have gained
We've made the choice to quit routines
And from all work refrain...

(Chorus)
We now resign with shouts of glee
From timeclocks, deadlines, stress
And spend our time in what we know
That all of us do best!

(Second Verse)
Oh join our ranks, pick up your pen
and break those ties that bind
The poets of the universe
Have chosen to resign...

(Chorus)
We're free from all the old hang-ups
Especially expectation
The time has come to move towards
Our Poet's RESIG-Nation!

(Just being silly, I know, but was inspired by the page you invited us to view, PdV, and loved it!!)
