If you could find out when and how you were gonna die would you want to know? Dont ask me why I am just wondering what people would say to this. I always wanted to know how and when I would die and I am wondering if anyone feels the same way. ~*Love is sometimes like a rose. Beautiful in the beginning but dies in the end.*~ |

No. I would not want to know because then I would be dwelling on the fact that I know I am going to die and not enjoying my life. Good question, I must think about this more. ![]() |

Hmm, I really don't think I'd want to know that. I'm kind of in the middle on this one. I guess it would be nice one hand to know how much time you have left. It might motivate you to do those things you should. But then again you would tend to dwell on the fact of your death. So I guess I just have to say no. |

I'm gonna have to go with a line my grandpa would always use whenever I'd ask that question to him: In the bed of a jealous husband. ![]() Seriously though, I usually don't think about death much...too busy living. I do recall a pretty nasty debate I had in college with my professors and Nutrition department head (was a Dietetics major) about Quality of life vs Quantity of life. Dieticians as a rule try to extend life as much as possible through a regulated diet. I told them that I'd rather die at 50 from a heart conniption eating a bloody steak and big baker with my Shiner Bach, surrounded by friends and family, than to waste away in a nursing home, friends and family deceased, being fed strained peas by a stranger. Needless to say, they were not pleased, especially since I was wearing my shirt that read "Eat right, exercise, die anyways". Alicat, the Persnikitty If I were any more laid back, I'd be in a coma. |

This is an interesting subject. I feel that the minute you know when and how you are going to die, that date will change. I mean lets say I knew I was going to die at age 80, since I am 25 now that means I have 55 years to live. So naturely I would want to live a healthier life, therefore I would either live longer or shorter. Also lets say that I knew I was going to get into a car reck at 70, at that time you can bet I would not be driving. I think that the second I know the date I am going to die that will change for knowing that date I would live my life differently. In doing so events would happen that could change that time for me. Just me thoughts, Aroooooooooo!! [This message has been edited by wolfman (edited 10-06-2000).] |

Hi I'm back..and I thought more about this interesting subject. I have to agree with wolfman, the moment we would know something about our future it is changed. I for one believe that if I know something awful would happen to me on a certin date I would do everything I could to change that. Even now, I believe that by the things we do throughout the course of our day we change our future even if it's just be a second. I rather not know. Life is an adventure full of wonderful suprises and I think we should live everyday as though it is our last. Have a great day everyone. |

I don't want to know when I'm gonna die. First of all I'd be depressed and in trying to change the outcome I would become even more so. I don't want to dwell on something so final. Granted, heaven would sure be trip but what if I get sent south. That would be a bummer!! Poetry~ Words falling on paper, painting a dream. Shawna R. Holder Boise, Idaho |

JeLLo says: I think that it would be hard for us mortals (LoL) to know our fate. Personally, I would like to live my life to the fullest and die knowing that I did everything I wanted to and helped everyone I could. I would like to look at my life and reflect on the impact I had. If I knew when it was I was going to die, I would spend way more time thinking about it than I would like and would live a life that I didn't like because I would spend time thinking about myself and how I could change it rather than how I could have an impact on others. Ya know? This was a great idea JiGgLeR!! ![]() Love Always ~*~Jessica~*~ < !signature--> ~*~Being an angel doesn't mean having a halo, it means doing the right thing and wanting to make a difference...~*~ [This message has been edited by StarPryncess17 (edited 10-07-2000).] |

When it comes to death i think it's highly wise to understand the concept. Death= supposed ending.....so yea i mean it's not like i'd want to know when my "ending" will come. I think the quote "ignorance is bliss" should come in handy with this question. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

WHEN I die, my tombstone will say, "I told them I was sick". *Smile*... And that's about all I've ever thought about the WHEN of death... I never think about "when" only about the quality of it. It's not too healthy to dwell on death, negatively, that is. It makes life too complicated. Would I like to know when I will die? Just to know that I will, is enough. It could be today. Knowing that, keeps balance. Balance is important. Too much of anything depletes the spirit. But, it is good to think about mortality, because thinking on such things brings infinity and immortality to light. All of everything is infinite. What you feel, what you see, who you are, it all surpasses the moment of your death. You will live on, no matter when you die. The date and time don't matter. What matters is the now. How you live your life and what you offer to others. Live with the heart of giving. Give all of you. There will never be another you. Give of yourself without fear because when you give, nothing can be stolen. I have digressed only due to the subject of death. We are all mortal. But, then again, we are not. And that is because it is all infinite. And we are all part of it and blend into it. Death should have quality just like life. When you think of death, think of life instead. Because that is how you get there. And the final moment of death takes you to the infinity of your destination which is within the memories of those you touched. It doesn't matter "when" you die and knowing when you might die or thinking on those things is futile. Knowing that it could be today is the only important thing. Yes, I would want to know.... I would want the opportunity to put right all the wrongs that I have/may have done... I would immediately plan to visit all the friends and people I cared for and to wish them well and let them know how much I care...regardless of anger, disappointment or affection.... To this day, I hate it when I say what I think and get no response, leaves me feeling guilty, then I think a bit more and wish I hadn't said anything and then I get angry all over again that I said something that had no impact...so I would want to explain how I feltand get or feel some responce to what I said...LOL I once said to someone, a short, very short time ago...that to argue is to me like saying I care, I do both with passion, neither is expressing less care than the other, in fact, if you don't care, you don't bother to say a thing... Lastly: I would want to hug them all so very much... Twice in my in life I sought the favours of a clairvoyant, both came so true, even now I find I pick the transcripts up and shake my head at it, either way, the important thing is to end your life with peace and love... Good post.. ![]() HUGS |

Knowing where, when or how death will find me isn't something I would want to know. It would spoil the fun I have had cheating death so far. Let him come. I am ready. The White Wolf |

I must confess that I did spend a bit of time contemplating my death - knowing that it would come sooner than it should, and having a pretty good idea of what would cause it... I came to the conclusion that death is inevitable so why should you care? More importantly, why should knowing the time or reason make a difference in how you live? Live each day as if it were a loan, make the intrest you pay on that loan worthwhile. THE PRICE WE PAY At the end of this day, I will assess the value, of what I've gained, for what I've paid. I paid a day of my life, a very high price indeed. I pray that my investment, was worth it. Too often I have found, my accountancy in the red, paying the cost of my life, and not capitalizing on it. I've paid at the door, and have wandered aimlessly, wasting in true American fashion. As I review my ledger tonight, will I find that I have misspent this day I've bought? Will I find that I have ignored, the chance to make a difference? Will I find that I have avoided, the opportunity to be of import? Will I find that my payment, has gone unreturned? Tomorrow comes too soon, and I pray that I realize, that I am bankrupting my soul, and that I will fight to see a profit, worth the inflated cost of my life. ![]() Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.
