no idea. never trust them. always ask third or fourth opinions. [This message has been edited by Drauntz (06-09-2007 03:18 AM).] |

why second opinion? 1. a doctor can be experienced and not 2. can be aggressive or conserved in managing cases 3. can be one who adopt the newest method or keep the good old workable kind. But the side-effect can be very different. This is kind of personal belief. in overall case managements, in operation strategy and medicine. 4. can be very good or meet average professional requirements 5. of course there are smart ones and dumb ones. 5.I do not want any doctors from Grey's anatomy. They have no normal stable mood which will lead to malpractice...on me. |

Flash! There are no doctors on Grey's Anatomy. Those are all really actors. Well, some are actors. The rest are just wannabes. |

By going to the doctor a few times for small things and learning his manners. If the doctor is slack and dull about little bugs, itches, and aches, then he most likely is not worthy. He would be even worse and more dangerous among more serious concerns. |

First impressions / chemistry always seems to work with me. If I meet them and would like to invite them to my home, I'm usually sure that I'm in good hands. And if I disagree with a doctor or his/her advice, I'm not hesitant to get a second opinion. |

You can never tell if you go for second or third opinion which is right and which is wrong. I know that not all Dr.s are great, some suck for real. My mother had Cancer about 4 years ago and went through great deal because of Dr. misdiagnosing it for some other stuff. I remember that so well that I think I never enter medical school for that reason. However, that doesn't mean that there are no good ones, there are some great Drs. who do things for good. I can tell because I have seen a few. The best thing to do is to try diagnosing yourself before attending a Dr. or so I believe. You knowing a little more about your own self would help you be helpful to the Dr. and lessens the percentage of being misdiagnosed or anyhow! I am not that good of a student in pharmacy school, but I can tell that pharmacist can help as well. Pharmacists are almost Drs. and they do know a lot. I know that is somehow not related, and that I am supposed to agree with you and stop at that, or maybe i think so, but I have learned from life to speak out my heart and be honest in every word. I hope that would help you a bit =) Tears of Sanity~ |

Tears, you are right, doctors nowadays are manily play drugs (medicines). The mechines do the diagnosis and someone else (rather than the doctor you see) read your reports and recommend a treatment for you. Do you believe that when you have you examination in hospital, some people in India read your blood report and some people in Australia read your CT-scans? If later some people in North Korea will remotely operate on you. Who knows where the new technology will head? I wish you feel better at the matter of your close friend. |
