I am not normally one who sits around waving the flag and telling everyone how patriotic and full of American pride I am, because things like that, and people like that don't ring true to me. It has too much of the "Methinks thou doth protest too much" air about it. Perhaps it is something I picked up from my father, who I never saw raise any flag except in the last couple of years of his life, and then only on Memorial Day. He never made a fuiss over it, he would simply post the National and Marine Colors in the morning, and take them down at dusk: no fanfare; no ceremony; no "look at me". It was simply done.
Anyhow... With today being what it is in the world of Americans, and with a few personal events that have happened in recent days, I would like to sak that everyone check out the folloing links for themselves. You can decide for yourself what they mean.

That is a most lovely presentation. I'm soooooooo happy that you shared this with each of us.

Did you or someone in your family help create this? Whether you and your family did or not, this is a most purely patriotic and ambiguous site which I believe can remind many of our proud heritage and American spirit.

Well this Canadian sure enjoyed sharing the 4th with you. I was only down in the States once (with Nan) for the 4th of July, and will absolutely never forget the patriotism I saw there in Cape Cod. What I experienced warmed my heart beyond any words.
