For all those men who say, "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free."   Here's an update for you.  Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage, why?  Because women realize, it's not worth buying the whole pig just to get a little sausage.

I have seen as with a long look
the best a man can make
is to create his own goodness

out of a clear image of himself
the satisfaction in simply being alive
the pleasure of his own eyes

"Women's brains use higher and more evolved functions, which account for their sensitivity, their humaneness, their worry, whereas men rely on more primitive functions. See rock, chase. Danger, sniff, go find. Smoke cigar later...And yet, I have to admit, I find it seductive"--Amy Tan

"Why must you lead, when I want to lead? If I want to dance I will ask you to dance. If I want to speak I will open my mouth and speak. Everyone is forever plaguing me to speak further. Why? What good is it to tell you you are in my every thought from the time I wake? What good can come from my saying that I sometimes cannot think clearly or do my work properly? What gain can rise of my telling you the only time I feel fear as others do is when I think of you in harm?"

- From The Village. Said by Joaquin Phoenix. That whole scene is amazing.

And great thread... this is only one of my favorite quotes. I'm sure I'll be back with more!

Ok, here are a few of my other favorites. There are just too many great quotes...

-Einstein

"We do not write because we want to; we write because we have to."
-W. Somerset Maughan

-Saint Francis of Assisi (not for sure, though)

THE STRUGGLE OF THE BUTTERFLY

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared.
He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours. It struggled to
force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making
any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and
it could go no farther.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors
and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then
merged easily, BUT, it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

He continued to watch the butterfly. He expected that, at any moment,
the wings would enlarge and the body would contract.
Neither Happened!

In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with
a swollen body and shriveled wings. It was never able to fly. The man
acted with well- intentioned kinds, but he didn't understand the
consequences.

The restricting cocoon and the struggle required to get through the
tiny opening, were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the
butterfly into it's wings so that it would be ready for flight once
it achieved it's freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God
allowed us to go through life without any obstacles, it would cripple
us. We would not be as strong as we could have been....
and we could never fly.....

Have a great day, great life, and struggle a little.... Then Fly!
