I was almost stripped of a backstage pass at an "America" show simply for saying two words: "Muskrat Love" (I was informed by security, that not only will they never play it again, they didn't even want to hear the title.) So this is an easy and fun topic--what songs just make you want to load the gun and waste the receiver when you heard them played (yet AGAIN). Doesn't have to be an old bubblegum tune either, any of today's monstrosities will do just as well. ![]() |

"I Will Always Love You" which to my knowledge, was first brought out by Dolly Parton, but sung to death by Whitney Houston. If I had my druthers, I would stick with Dolly's version...3-4 times a year. Period. |

quote:No! Now the original was fun a few times (though I came to it late) - it did get old quickly... however - Marilyn Manson did a very good job remaking it... and if you have the opportunity to listen to it while watching the video in the extras on the "Not Another Teen Movie" soundtrack while watching the "Pretty-Ugly-Girl" turn into a smoking hot goth groupie... ahhh, more's the better. ![]() |

"I'm so Glad" Raph mentioned that one. It's one I always forget -- until I hear it again. Add the "I'm so Glad it's over" lame ass joke somebody always make and it's enough to make anybody retch. I'll be back with more...damn shame how many there is too. ![]() |

I can't believe no one has mentioned the song about "do it like they do on the Discovery channel." The first time I heard that song I looked over at Michael and said, "The world is ending, they've run out of things to sing about." Agree with Britney Spears (thank the Lord my daughter has moved on to Avril Lavigne now) and No Doubt, just in general. |

"The Reason by Hoobastank..they should all be stripped naked and flogged but for some reason i think they'd like it" Here is a bit of divine justice for ya... I was at a concert that headlined with Korn with the likes of Chevelle, Three Days Grace and Skindred. Well they put Hoobastank right before Korn and after Chevelle. I tell you what never put a corny a.. band like that before Korn. They got so many boo's and trash talk the guy stopped talking between songs and just played straight through. Everytime there was silence the crowd would scream, "You Suck" or some other variation. It was great, especially during "The Reason", which was when it got really bad. |

So - 2 songs I would like to never hear again: "Let Me Out" (or some-such nonsense) by - get this - Future Leaders of America. 1st - the song is hideous; it plays off like a quasi-serious heavy/rock band about the toils and troubles of - oh yeah - being in prison. uhm - The future leaders of our world are... felons? "Boulevard of Broken Dreams - by Greenday. Now, mind you, I'm normally a Greenday fan, but this song rubs my whiskers (metaphorically) backwards. It's sappier than a split maple and spools out of the radio like some kind of boy-band gone bad (or worse, considering the benchmark). Add to that, the title track from the same album - American Idiot - received/receives far less air time and is a brilliant song. oh sigh, if I only controlled the world... |

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams - by Greenday. Now, mind you, I'm normally a Greenday fan, but this song rubs my whiskers (metaphorically) backwards. Add to that, the title track from the same album - American Idiot - received/receives far less air time and is a brilliant song." I'd disagree in part there. The whole album of "American Idiot" segues together so very well, even when it is kind of a mess. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" serves a deep purpose to the album; it's the lonely place of ill fortune and desolation that so many are finding themselves go during this rough political climate and times. And if you were St. Jimmy or the Jesus of Suburbia, what would you think or say in that situation? Surely the words would struggle to come out, and that's why I really sympathize with this track and not suprised it is hitting huge, not to mention has already went #1 on three formats and will probably be a Pop #1. "American Idiot", yeah, that was a killer lead single, though I guess I'm not suprised it didn't hit outside Alternative (it went #1 there.) It's an intense political track, with lyrics like "Well, maybe I'm the f****t America" that wouldn't appeal to listeners across other formats. I bet "Wake Me Up When September Ends" will be a huge hit next year. They should release that in the summer and then it will hit when September comes around, thus making it one of the most memorable post-911 singles. I even think Green Day should break the cycle and make a brave move like Queen did with "Bohemian Rhapsody" before, challenging the three-minute ditty single legacy and release "Jesus of Suburbia" as a single. That's the best song they've ever recorded in my opinion, and with the way this album has already went double platinum and a rumored movie deal on the way, they have nothing to lose so they should release this beloved track. I even can say it can go Top 20 at Alternative if released, even being over nine minutes long. Sincerely, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you But if the bright lights don't receive you You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20 |

Here's some other songs I never again want to hear. Ben Harper: "Kisses From You" Sugar Ray: "Mr. Bartender" (It's So Easy) & "Fly" Smash Mouth: "All Star" (It's actually a decent single in my opinion, but the way radio has butchered it as well as Radio Disney tarnishing the band's retro reputation has spoiled it) Nickelback: "Feelin' Way Too Damn Good" (Nickelback are very formulaic, but this song in particular is unbearable to listen to.) Puddle of Mudd: Everything Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow: "Picture" (It just sounds so dull and unimaginative. Often even new country music, which really isn't country at all because it sounds so adult contemporary, has the quirky lyrics old country balladeers had, but this is so boring.) Linkin Park: All Singles Except For "My December" and "Breaking the Habit" (Those two singles I made exception at least have a unique, experimental approach to them. All their other singles sound so generic and punched with the same aggressive chords and Chester's shrieking vocals.) Limp Bizkit: "Behind Blue Eyes" (The Who Cover) (Oh dear, how they butchered that classic. "Results May Vary" may quite possibly be the worst record released in the past few years, and this perhaps the worst cover released as a single.) Sincerely, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Spice Girls - Anything No Doubt - Anything Linkin Park - while I agree is overplayed on commercial radio, XM tends to balance it better. If you actually listen to their words I have found that for the 18 to 25 market it is quite therapeutic. |

Pieces of me - Ashlee Simpson ...it just makes me sick. And it's so obvious that she isn't singing. This Love - Maroon 5 ...ugh! Somebody Told Me - The Killers ...pointless, annoying, and it gets stuck in your head all flippin' day long. Boys and Girls - Good Charlotte ...I mean, come on people, get a life! Actually, just about anything Good Charlotte can fall of the edge of the earth in my opinion. And I have to admit... I like Linkin Park. Admittedly, this may have something to do with the fact that I'm unimaginative, tone deaf, and know nothing about music. They can get old after awhile since everything is the same, but, with the right mood, in the right doses, they're actually really great. |

personally i can't take linkin park..i know why people like them but it just doesnt work for me. half of the time the lead singer sounds like he's singing for a boyband like n-sync..the tool rapping, he makes me itch..otherwise the music is..ok. and the videos are cool |
