I know that I should probably be posting this in Q&A, but I figured it would get more attention here. I got a PS2 second-hand and it had a problem with the tray getting off track. So when my friend fixed it for me, he left all of the screws for the tray cover off so I could try to fix it myself the next time. Well, it malfunctioned again so I was taking the top of the PS2 off to fix it. There is a thin silver strip that connects the top (which has the power and eject bottons) to the bottom. In the process, this strip disconnected from the bottom (or main part) of the system. It doesn't look broken. At the end of the strip is a piece of blue plastic stuff and in the middle is a piece of tape or something. I think it could be reattached but I don't know where the other end is supposed to go. If you can offer any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I am not an electronics person (I do good to get my DVD player to work) so please put any advice into as simple of terms as possible ![]() Thanks for reading, Alicia |

If you call Sony Playstation...they will fix it for free. BUT if you have opened it, they will know if you did or not....they will charge you shipping and labor costs. My friend did this and she just bought her son a new one. One problem let to another after she opened it. Be careful. |
