First of all, let me say Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's we have here at Passions. Now, What are your most memorable memories (bad or good)of your gift giving adventures on Mothers Day when you were younger and still living with your Mom? You could hurt me with your bare hands. You could hurt me using the sharp edge of what you say. JEWEL |

TemptyOne~ Oh .... this is sooooooooo easy for me~ My 'best' for her ... 'worst' for me, was giving my mother a tiny box with my FIRST THREE SILVER HAIRS tied up in a bow ! She loved it ... (I've been a L'Oreal gal ever since) and she placed that *gift* in the cedar chest along with a lock of my baby hair. When my mother passed on, 8 years ago ... it was with teary eyes that I went through her cedar chest, exploring all the memorabilia so tenderly tucked away through the years. I always smile when relatives tell me that I'm soooooooooo much like my mother. I'm a nostalgic packrat ... yet today I gave my own children many of the 'memory-makers' so they wouldn't have to wait until I'm no longer here for an explanation of each piece~ (Couldn't give it ALL to them ... but did pass on a bunch of it~ Thanks for this ... I smiled with my remember~ It's been a beautiful Mother's Day for this lady~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Well - how about when my kids were little and living at home???.. We were all at my mom's house - my daughters and my sister's sons were all playing upstairs. Stacie was four years old - Stephen was two... He picked up an old fashioned pencil sharpener (the school type, made of really heavy steel) and threw it at her. He hit her square between the eyes... right on a vein that immediately spurted out in pulsating projectile streams of blood - By the time I made it to the top of the stairs (about 5 seconds flat) - There was already a pool before her that was about a foot wide diameter... Within another two seconds after a cursory assessment of the situation, I grabbed her with one arm and quickly plugged her wound with with my free thumb. Believe it or not, the thumb worked... The bloodflow stopped, but I didn't dare remove the thumb... We rushed to the hospital with Stacie dutifully attached as my appendage, and got her stitched up... That was my MOST memorable Mother's Day... actually - my most memorable year for holidays - On Christmas Eve of the same year, Sandra fell on a rock and cut herself in the same place - We went to the hospital again... etc.. etc... |

there are just too many to mention. . . but. . . I can honestly say that my Mother has kept everything that I ever made her for Mother's Day in school, and in Cub Scouts. . . and very well, I might add. . . ------------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
