Have you ever said something you shouldn't have in the forums before?  Something you regretted...sometimes words just spill out and you don't realize what you've actually said until its too late then you get smote and wake up...
just curious..

Mistakes happen and it is nothing to sweat about. It is the repetition of mistakes that is cause for alarm.

Let's not have a repeat...

Essorant,

This is how I understand it should work.

If you make a genuine mistake that breaks the rules your post will generally be deleted, edited or moved by one of the moderators who will attempt to contact you privately by email to point out the error. If your email isn’t available your post will generally be edited to remove the offending error and a short message notifying you of the reason will be inserted, you can at that point contact the moderator for further details.

Everyone makes mistakes (even Ron) and the philosophy of the forum in this regard reflects this, one error is classed as a mistake any subsequent errors of the same kind are classed as a wilful disregard of the rules and the moderators will act accordingly.

Have I ever posted anything I shouldn’t have?

I remember posting what I believed (and still believe) is a legitimate word in a poem in CA. The word was edited out by a moderator and after a slightly childish fit of pique on my part via email I replaced the word with an alternative and apologised to the moderator. (The word by the way rhymes with subsidised and means to corrupt or alter from the original.)

I haven’t used that word in these forums since and don’t intend to use it in the future, in other words I’ve learned from my mistake.
