Did anyone watch the mini series on the SciFi channel titled 'Taken'? If you did, what did you think of it?

I haven't watched it yet, but my boyfriend did, and he thought it was freaky! He taped them all, so I'll probably see them eventually.

I caught episode three and was so hooked that i made myself not watch the rest of them so, when it comes out on dvd, i can watch them all in one shot... but then again, i'm a sucker for anything sci-fi or fantasy.

what'd you think, Sharon?

Ron - If it's any consolation - I HAVE SciFi - and I don't watch it much... So I'm due for a little rubbing in too...

Don't worry Ron - this one was by Spielberg. I'm almost positive we'll see it out on video and dvd in not too long.

UMM, Ron, I've got SciFi and DVD, too, but I don't watch it much, either. (Okay, I'll hush)
What was it about, Sharon?

From the first moment I was hooked. They tied in the Roswell landings so neatly that I began to think that is what really happened. There were some slow moments - some questionable sections (like why did that happen and why didn't this person show up later in the show) but all in all it was excellent. The ending left me in tears and wasn't the 'end' that I wanted. The actors did a good job - I booed the bad ones and cheered for the good ones. There were lots of traces of Spielberg (Michael Jeter in the last episode dressed much like the cartographer in 'Close Encounters'). I hope you all get a chance to see it. I sat up every night until midnight to see all the episodes (each one is 2 hours long). I'm not sure I believe (I want to) but it sure made for a good 'what if'....I recommend it.

Then of course later, there was a documentary debunking the Roswell story - trying to anyway. That was good too.

And 'Children of Dune' starts soon...that might be good.

SciFi is a great channel..if you can get it, I recommend it (Ron - think about getting a satellite dish).

There..rubbing done.

I thought it was pretty good. There was one episode (the one with the twins) that sort of lost my attention for an hour or so, but other than that, it was pretty interesting.

The episode with the twins was like an X Files show...it was scary.

I so do not watch Sci-fi. That said - I loved "Taken" - but alas real life got in the way and I had to miss a few episodes....can't wait for it to come out on DVD.
Yes I too have a DVD player *ahem* and all the cable I can't stand (came free with the apartment).
About the DVD player - I work for the second largest video rental chain and I had best be up to speed eh?
