I use the word "make" just for fun.  Archaically meaning "to compose verses of poetry"
If you were a maker you were a Poet.
I was just wondering where you "make", what place best affords comfort, mood and pleaseth the particular muse?  Is it offhand in a public place, in a quiet nook at home, in a meadow, at your computer?  With someone?  Just a bit curious

Nowadays, if you asked someone "where do you Make?" they might blush a little.     Remember what age we live in, Essorant, or someone's husband might beat you up.

Most of the time I write in public, in my binders during class, scribble things on my hand or arm when I have no paper... get home and reflect, and that's when I start actually writing.  Very seldom do I write and complete a poem when I'm not at home -- I often write something, but when I come home, I edit it.

At least, that's how it works for me.

Okay, I will try posting this again, my comp went fuzzy on me.  "Where do I make?" In the bathroom of course! Okay, that was lame, sorry.  I write my little trinkets on the computer, I always need music.  If I feel like writing something romantic I need romantic music, if I want something more light then I listen to upbeat music.

Sorry If this post twice, computer went crazy on me first time.

I make wherever my muse hits me. I make in class, at home, at Dianes... as bad as it sounds, I even made at Ryan's one night. People are used to me suddenly saying "Quick! PEN and PAPER!! NOW!!!" lol

No, on second thought, let's not go to Camelot.

I used to make on my little laptop-type computer thingy. But now I mainly use a notebook. And that way I don't just go back and erase like on a computer. Ideas I throw out at first sit there and stew (or mold, depending on what it is) for a while until I can use it. Also, writing on a computer is hard... Too much temptation to play games or surf the net or burn cds.
I also usually have music playing... I like music.

I usually write during science class ( yea its pretty boring ) or when I am just sitting at the computer. I have a little notebook where I have a ton of phrases from tv or my thoughts that would be good and just sit on my bed all warm and write. Pretty basic... O yea, and I listen to one song over and over again and it inspires me while I am at the computer. Just listening

Morning mist clings to my face, and my soul opens up to you......

My muse decides where I write. She's persnickity that way. I once sat in my car after a movie in the middle of July (I live in Phoenix) to write..now THAT was dedication!

Whenever I'm inspired. Whether from overhearing some snippet of unusual conversation at work, something on the TV, from reading, standing in line at the supermarket or cinema, half asleep, half awake, driving, walking, talking, listening.

Or etc.

As the muse encircles and the seething appetite of Poetry buffets through the countless senses of the body and soul wanting to be formed at once, is it not divine calling and intervention acting?
If such urge is ignored at any place or time, is that not thus a sin?  I think there should be accomodations in all settings for making,  so that if this happens in a restaurant, school, bathroom, church, casino, office, reunion, etc.--it can happen as it must needs to, as divinity calls nature into motion, and must be obeyed!

Just my opinion

hey now!  I'm no sinner, I jot notes on my arm for the sake of poetry.  People asking me why "lamplight looks like yellow skittles" is scrawled down my arm is a pretty big sacrifice to make in the name of poetry.

I would say that is indeed a sacrifice, obedient to the calling.
But if you were at school in mathematics class and the calling came and you just continued doing mathematics, the digits and roots of evil itself , That would be sin!!!

I write whenever and wherever I'm inspired by something or someone.
I always have a little notebook with me and I jot things down.
I've done this for years, and most everybody I know knows it and just
accepts me the way I am....kind of peculiar, I guess.

My muse, the precocious gal that she is, loves to spring on me at the most inopportune moments, usually playing off my poor memory to taunt me with possibilities of a greatness that may never be achieved. *sigh*

I usually let my thoughts wonder and the words flow, sometimes just a phrase, or line, sometimes a verse. These days i am working full time so it is usually when i am driving in and out of work or when i am drifting off to sleep. I don't reach for a pen.

Where ever They start talking.

Typically the 'where' is: at my computer. in a restaurant. on the road. outside (the trees know things). bathroom stalls.

I once wrote a poem across my desk during a unit test in Biology. The funny thing is, it was about suicide and my teacher took a look at it (and my pathetic appearance) and said, You need to erase that.

Bathroom stalls. It's why I always carry a black marker.

She does it because she's self-centered.

Like there's

the rest of the world/jen/the rest of the world.

Jen always exists inside slashes because she's not a part of anything else.  Makes sense to me.

I do a lot of making in bed....And I do mean POETRY of the pen.  Lot of times I just can't sleep and then something will start playing in my head.  I have to get up and write it down right then, or I can't sleep sometimes. I will listen to music or see something wrote alot of times and that will spark something too.

What was the question?
