The House on Biscayne (revision) * * * * * * * * * the eiffle tower has lost its beauty. visitors now hush their voices their clothes before the upswept pious structure of loves requited joy. the leaning tower of Pisa took its place. crumbling beneath the support that it rejected so many times before. through the rush of Miami’s de-junked, ex-heroin addiction, they left one behind, the Leaning Tower of Biscayne, abandoned on a busy street with broken steps to heaven.... the doors the windows boarded to keep the angels laughter inside. black stain, the shadows of memories, washed almost away by the rain. a forest of grass punctured by dead flowers towering above the weeds that strangle them. rusted and askew the gate greets visitors with a questioning wail as broken glass litters the garden of tombstone daisies. a jagged shard of glass clutches the sill catching the wind as its voice, it calls beckons for someone to remember… the beauty that was so haunting. Why is it that in silence the mind screams? |

i found this poem to be very...entrancing. it's been a while since i've seen a real poem. this is full of mystery, smoke and mirrors, but yet it reaches deep into the universal soul and strokes certain memories with a bittersweet pang. i'm rambling. great words. |
