Chorus I don't know why the sun must set and send a blanket of darkness over the world. I don't know why the clouds must turn gray, and the result is a rainy day. I don't know why the angels cry, or why people always die. I don't know why walls crash down, but the memories stay around. Verse 1 Thunder fills the sky with anger, Baby Jesus is lying in his manager. The sea is draining much too fast, Too quick for anything to last. Verse 2 Hatred fills the hearts of human lives, Jesus is on his way to the cross, to die. The lightening is beginning to perform, Rainbows frown after a storm. Chorus I don't know why the sun must set and send a blanket of darkness over the world. I don't know why the clouds must turn gray, and the result is a rainy day. I don't know why the angels cry, or why people always die. I don't know why walls crash down, but the memories stay around. Verse 3 Parents think their child's lives are being diminished, Jesus is saying that, "It is finished." The mountains crumble to the ground, Locking the door to secrets unfound. Verse 4 We think our lives are being locked in, but Jesus is dieing for all of our sins. The wind is blowing much to hard, The rolling hills of grass are becoming scarred. Chorus I don't know why the sun must set and send a blanket of darkness over the world. I don't know why the clouds must turn gray, and the result is a rainy day. I don't know why the angels cry, or why people always die. I don't know why walls crash down, but the memories stay around. Verse 5 People are constantly being misled, but Jesus is arising from the dead. The waves in the ocean are splashing with exhilaration, The fire in hell doesn't offer stimulation. Verse 6 People are beginning to see the light, because Jesus is making everything right. The stars are shining in the sky, Anger has finally passed by. Chorus I don't know why the sun must set and send a blanket of darkness over the world. I don't know why the clouds must turn gray, and the result is a rainy day. I don't know why the angels cry, or why people always die. I don't know why walls crash down, but the memories stay around. |

Hey there... I don't have any experience in terms of writing songs. The one thing that struck me the most though is that I can't connect your choruses with your verses. It seems to me that if your song promotes such faith then the almost-despair of your chorus doesn't quite fit. Surely the subject of the song knows why people always die if he/she/you has such a faith in Jesus. That just seems logical to me... K |

Hi, I'm very new(first post ). I guess it's two persons talking-the chorus, not knowing anything and the other person trying to instil faith? It's a good idea and I liked it a lot!!! |

thanks for replying. the poem is about a very troubled person, who is beginning to become religious, and beginning to look to God for help and answers. The chorus reflects the person's confusion, and the verses do to a little bit. the second line of every verse is an attempt to turn to God, and in verse 6, it finally happens. "Jesus is making everything right" |
