Cocktails and a Question i remember our first meeting… the cool march morning blending sweetly with my anticipation- anxiety cocktail. a child stepping out for the first time cocktails quickly shifting to straight anxiety shots, bitter, unexpected your rapid fire questions penetrated my innocent drunken fog. then our second meeting, you call it our first, professing not to remember the child of six months ago. creeping into wooden shelter praying you’d recognize her, hurt I failed to leave my mark. words pour our, espousing Aloysha’s virtues, and your desires to be the true wind hover. the child listens, impressed by by your passion, admiring your dedication while I scribble pictures, trying not to care. it’s funny you call me your little imp do you know how old I am this little child is still in me, you say you like what you see but if you don’t remember her, how can you know me? |
