Greetings PIPtalk. I stumbled across the site and thought I'd share. I wrote this in bed the other night, heh.

Poem - Life is....
A journey,
Wrong-footed on the right highway.

Adventure,
Trespassing into uncertainty and never ending.

A series of unconnected rhythms,
You long to blend into the melody
Always filling your dreams.

Thoughts of Summer,
As snow blankets a wintery paradise.

Unrealistic visions,
Shot down by cameos in black you never identify.

Surreptitious desire,
Wholesome in its irregular realisation.

Windows that open onto
Lives passing you will not know
Nor have time to investigate.

Moments,
Bizarre, Wonderous, Grotesque but
Etched in permanent marker on the memory.

Overseas travel,
And post piled on a welcome home mat
(that saw no footmark nor movement in all that activity)

Distant longings for the fading familiarity
Of embraces that are no longer yours.

Emotions
Randomised by predictability.

And you,
Life is you.
Thoughts, deeds, hopes, dreams
Woven together and made whole by
My De Facto raison d'etre
Wearing jeans and a smile.
