One day I awoke, And the world had changed, The future spoke, And the past was erased, It was the dawn of a new era, The beginning of the new scare, Terrorism and war, The earth began to shake. Minds flashing back, To a single moment, That terrible time, When we felt the worlds wrath. Flash forward to the bombs falling down, And the concrete slabs the survivors rest their heads upon, To awake to a new day, When the world will change, Yet nothings really changed, Things just stay just the same, The bombs still fall, And the bullets still fly, Shattered are their hopes for a better time, And still the politicians stall, To form a new coherence, And everyday the murderers gain new adherents. Minds flashing back, To a single moment, That terrible time, When we felt the worlds wrath. The source of the violence, Is lost in the mist of history in the making, The silence of the dead is loudly deafening, And still we live our lives, In the midst of perpetual agony, As we read the sights of war, We think we know what’s happening, The public misinformed, The news choose what they use, And the public conforms, To what their neighbors say, And this is why nothing ever will change. Minds flashing back, To a single moment, That terrible time, When we felt the worlds wrath. The politician men feed off of the fear, Cable TV. still reeks, With the fear mongering we hear, For fear is money, The public whipped into a frenzy, And when all is said and done, The rotation of the earth will leave you dizzy. On comes the new day, New satiation, New life onto new nations, And still the race goes on, And still we are left frustrated. My mind is flashing back, To a terrible time, When the stages actors stood still, And were at a loss for their lines, When nothing was fine, And it felt odd to be alive, It became difficult to rhyme, So choked was my head with lime. The shaking of the city, The burial of the bodies, The triumph of the will, And the mothers crying, The bleating of the enemy, As they praised their god, The terror we felt about dying, And the world trembled nods, Yet no one understood, Where we would be today, So that is the end of the tale, There is nothing left to say. |

But.... the past wasn't exactly erased, and it's not the end of the tale. I'm not sure what you are trying to say with this, it reads more like a rant. |

Thank you Farkas and hush for your responses. It reads like a rant because that is kind of what it is. I wrote it in one sitting off of the top of my head, so that is why it runs kind of randomly. |
