You are the best of us,
Taken from the worst of situations, you rose to make us better than those that made you rise all those years ago,
From Bunker Hill and New York City,
To Kabul and Baghdad,
You secure us our freedom no matter the cost,
Even unto death.

Somewhat changed in duties and uniform though not in bravery,
There are those that protect our freedoms from those of us that would do the rest harm,
You Catch the thief that killed a man that saved his daughter from the thief,
From Vegas and Orlando,
To Cincinatti and Atlanta,
You secure us our freedom no matter the cost,
Even unto death.

And yet some find in there heart to pull another from a raging fire,
You walk into a raging inferno not knowing what you'll find, and walk out a hero to a little girl,
From Pheonix and Pensacola,
To Chicago and Montgomery,
You secure us our health and life no matter the cost,
Even unto death.

Be honored and be cherished for all that you do,
Know the thanks of those that live because of you,
Most importantly, be safe.

May this prayer be answered for you:
Lord,
I pray that you protect those that protect us, that sacrafise of themselves so that I might be myself and live free.

I just wrote that, so I'm sure there are changes that could be made.
