The Child Within. You wonder how I know the things you thought were deep inside, You wonder how I see the things you try so hard to hide, You wonder why your other men didn't see the things I see, The answer is quite simple, it's because they were not me. Now that may seem concieted, but I'm really not that way, It seems so very bigheaded and may be termed blase, But all the special things I have are totally brand new, I never, ever had them, until the day that I found you. It was only you who showed me the things that I could feel, It was only you and you alone that made my senses reel, You opened up a life for me, I thought I'd never see, And with it came that special gift and my ability to love the woman outside, But to see the girl within, To love the adult, yet ignore the child, Would be to me a sin. So, I ruffled her hair and held her hand, She gave me such a smile, I walked with her in wonderland, And played with her a while. I know that you're still wondering, Why your little girl I see, The answer is it's just because, There's a little boy in me. |

JTC--Another wonderful poem, but then again, all I have to do is consider who wrote it! Thank you for sharing this one; truly lucky and loved indeed is the woman who is still allowed to be a little girl within. John, What words can be used for such a wonderful work of art?!? Seriously, this made me cry. I have had too many relationships where this wasn't the case, and it ended in less than happy ways. Thank you so much for posting this. From now on, I'll show this to everyone I date. Once again, you show me something I thought I would never find! Thanks again! Nice poem, very enjoyable. I think we all need to keep our child nearby or else we may age before our time. |

Wow! Where do I start? Thank you all for your kind words. To all who have found someone who sees their little person, I am so pleased for you. To those who have yet to find him or her; I hope they come along very soon. |

I was just thinking about how much I miss John. Am I alone in this capacity? Anyway, this is one of his best poems, thought I'd *bump* it back to the screen.... |

Thank you for your kind words, Alicia. Curiosity got the better of me. I just had to look who would pull one of my poems from so long ago. Thank you again. Don't be a stranger eh? May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out. Irish proverb. |

What a nice read, from someone I haven't seen here before! Yes, it is wonderful to find someone who can see various aspects of us, not just one dimension. Thanks for pulling this up. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

delightful poem... hoe blessed she is to be so thoroughly loved! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
