Deny me all dreaming, Deny me your love. Wreak upon My broken mind, Your empty-thought words Of promises then All shattered- Into now. You charge through my heart With thoughtless acts Of caring- Only unto you. You, A lady in love... With the very concept of. ‘Tis only now I know- When I come home To nothing-walls, Barren of all warmth... Save those from fleeting memories of that time then, When I was alive- ‘Tis only now I know, That truth indeed, spins more tragic tales, Than those woven, In threads of fiction. "...rising and gliding out, I wander'd off by myself, In the mystical moist night-air, and from time to time, Look'd up in perfect silence at the stars." -Walt Whitman, Leaves of Grass [This message has been edited by Christopher (edited 04-19-2000).] |

There's nothing worse than "nothing-walls" And nothing greater than truth And no one writes a better verse This poet in his youth I can but well imagine when His mind is aged like wine Then mellowed walls and barren halls More wisdom they will chime Liz |
