Chivalry is held in high esteem, By the Knights around this table, 'Tis the Heart of who we are, Essential to keep the Kingdom stable. A Knight must be dexterious, In the weapons of Defense, But his Character must be tempered, By Valor, Courtesy and Good Sense! Understand, We are men of War, 'Tis our Duty to protect the weak, Aged denizens and children young, Are those of which I speak. Also those whom we ensconce, Are Maidens, Damsels fair, We've sworn Oaths to safeguard, See that harm doth not ensnare! We must our Oaths do honor, As we've sworn to the King, Thus rescuing Damsels in distress, 'Tis a most Excellent thing! [This message has been edited by White Knight (edited 04-12-2000).] |

White Knight - excellent job of writing. I'm sure the "Damsels in distress" think the Knights are a "most excellent thing" too. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |

Sir White Knight, Thou brings peace to thee land that carries lease. Forever honor we bestow granting our release. Ye carry thine arms to keep away all thine evil harms. Ye fight battles bravely yet still have charms. Another day shall be dawn where'st permitted we shall sit on thee lawn because of ye grace and honor we sit noble not as a pawn. Thy thanks to ye dear knight before ye there was only extreme fright. Now we can have and enjoy peacefully dream swept nights. |

I won't even try to compete with Esme. Suffice to say, grand words from ye two May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out. Irish proverb. |

Esmeralda, fairest Lady, Thy thanks acknowledged be, Though quite unnecessary, "Tis my duty, an Honor unto Thee. I admire thy courtly vision, Sharing leisure upon the lawn, When peaceful times doth visit, Our enemies henceforth gone. For now I must stand a-ready, To guard the Kingdom Land, For M'Lady and all who sojourn, Herein our boundries stand. Continue in thy security, I've vowed to do Thee right, Thou can in safe repose, Enjoy thy dream swept night! |

I speak for all damsels, distressed, the chivalry of the knights is no jest. Whether our life be in danger, or some fair dame forced to marry a stranger White Knight is there, to end our dispair!! Or like Esmeralda a good maiden is locked away, a knight comes, her captor to slay!! Oh damsels, sing & rejoice, as women we have our choice to be under protection of such fine men, what brave courageous souls they've been!! So maidens fair, join me in praise, of the knights that sheild in so many ways!! And there she weaves by night and day, a magic web of colours gay.~Tennyson |

There is no way I could compete with any of those.. What a blessing to see four wonderful poems instead of one.. MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU, MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND Irish Blessing |

Sweet Faeryie Nymph, Doth flatter us, Thy words doth charm, As faeryie Dust! Thy sweet chorus, Enchants mine soul, Fortifies my verve, 'Gainst untold foe. But praise for me, Thou need not send, By Thy Kings decree, I Must defend! A Drudgery thou ask? I needs say NOT! For 'Tis my Joy, Defending Camelot! |

Wow!! 5 for the price of one....what value!! I am not even going to try and compete with the replies in verse, y'all would probably find it offensive! Love and hugs, Lizzie "Poetry is the true expression of my soul, it is my ultimate means of communication. It is my rainbow of delight." |
