You gave me joy and all my heart desired. You comforted me when I felt scared and alone You shielded me from a world filled with danger And taught me to never talk to a stranger You listened when all I did was moan You cheered me up when I was dejected and tired. As I look back and thank you for what you have done I find it hard to look forward and not see you there And now that your race has been run In my heart I've reserved you a special chair And although you've left your earthly cart Your Life will always be in our memory For you have touched many Souls And helped hearts fill up empty wholes And it is because of that legacy That I know you never truly left my heart I thank you for all you taught me And for the journeys we shared For laughter spent and being free And for letting me know that you cared And as I say my last good bye To a father that showed me how to laugh and cry I also offer you much-deserved thanks For a full life of risks and pranks A life full of fun and joy and cheer With very few times where we shed a tear And with this I bow my head And let my last words rest Thank you for being the best Whether it was as father or friend May the light of day always shine during the darkest of nights. |

What a wonderful ode to Dad. A great tribute to a special one. May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out. Irish proverb. |

Brings a small smile to my face when I think of how it used to be with my dad and me.. Thanks for reviving good memories... *smiles* Very special poem... MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU, MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND Irish Blessing |

Your father must have been a wonderful man. You did a wonderful job of honoring him. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |
