How Do I Know He Loves Me? [This is a Passions Neighborhood project…add your own “I knows” for your favorite person in reply.] When he takes care of me. When he takes care of himself. When he tries to get me to better myself. When he betters himself for me. When he puts me up on that pedestal and holds the ladder steadily. When he loves me better than he loves the dog and he loves the dog a lot. When he tells his best friend how much he loves me …even though he sometimes can’t find the words to tell me what he tells his friend. When he lets me finish his sentences, and allows me to be concerned about him. When he gives in to my nagging to see the doctor for an ache or a pain that I cannot fix. When he says “thanks” for letting him semi-retire early. When he tries to get me to slow down and enjoy his retirement, and understands when I cannot. When he teases me and allows me to be right in a debate, just so I win. When I know he’s letting me win. When he shares frustration over the things in life he cannot fix, and fixes the things he can. When he tends to the land, and shares his secrets of management with me. When he allows me the freedom to be me without judging. When he lets me dance in the supermarket aisle to Hanson's Mmmmm-Bop and doesn't get embarrassed. When he takes my hand at night and kisses it gently and says "I love you" before he starts to snore. When he warms the car up for me in the morning so I won't be cold... When I give you the last piece, even though I wanted it too. When I stay up late to help you finish that project, even though I have to get up early and you don't. Here's the serious one: When I need something---so BADLY---out of our relationship.....and I KNOW you can't give it to me....so I don't expect it...and I keep going anyway...and don't look for it elsewhere. That was the hard part. It may not rhyme, but that's a bleeding piece of my heart there. |

When he offers to make me something to eat when he is sick and I'm not...... When I sit at the computer for hours and he doesn't complain (really, Sharon!) When he gets up early and puts the coffee on so I don't have to..... And the best part...hehehehe....when he gets paid and gives it all to me.....yippeeeee Well this doesn't rhyme either but I'm saving that for the Valentine Challenge! |

Sorry Sunshine, no poem, my brain is not in the mood for love I guess (no guy in my life), but I think I know he loves me when I can be ME for who and what I am, which could be crumpy in the morning, or dancing in the rain. Fill the house with laughter, or scream from an inner pain. Next please  |

When he says I'm beautiful during a bout with the flu... When I've had a bad day and he makes dinner for two... When he talks of plans to take me away... To someplace where we'll be alone every day... When he takes me dancing in the rain... And promises we'll do it again... All of these things and so much more... Like when we walk down the lonely beach shore... Show my heart how much he loves me everyday... And I know this sweet one is here to stay.
