I'm Happily Sad

The miles between us
Are distantly near
For though well separated
Your spirit is here

Though there is no hope
For a time of our own
I'm singing with laughter
In sorrow alone

My heart's pained with joy
At the love we have had
I am bitterly happy
And wonderfully sad

Elizabeth Santos

Bittersweet and beautiful Liz....

What a beautiful poem Elizabeth. It leaves me with mixed feelings.......I suppose you could call it "happily sad".

Thankyou for sharing this.. It's beautiful.

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND
