the memory of you stirs in my heart < !signature-->like a faint scent carried on the breeze or a strain of forgotten music almost as if I am suddenly awakened from a fairy tale sleep by the kiss of a handsome prince and I open my eyes, a smile on my lips to see you knelt there before me welcoming me back in to your embrace where I belong ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ yawning and wakening to the soft light of morning I open my eyes and look for you to be knelt there beside my bed the feel of your kiss fresh on my lips but the space where you were was empty, empty as my arms and my smile fades to a wistful glance as memories of you flood the room and my heart it was just a dream and you're still there and I'm still here Shall we live to breathe again? Or simply just exsist in this limbo we dare to call life! ~Maya 2/20/00 [This message has been edited by Maya the Brokenhearted (edited 04-06-2000).] |

A lovely poem. Sometimes the dream is better than the reality could ever become. May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out. Irish proverb. |

Excellent poem. Wistful. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |

Maya--This is beautiful....sad, but beautiful. "Unto thine own self be true, and it must follow as the night, the day; thou cans't not be false to any man."---Shakespeare |

I have had that dream many times. You convey so well the lingering of the spirit. I am convinced that often when we're dreaming or thinking of someone, it's because their thoughts are on us. It's more than a memory. And the feeling of that person lingers for moments after waking up from the dream, whether it be a nighttime dream or a daydream. As you can tell, I loved this poem, because it is so well written. Liz |
