The room is fragrant, dark and quite still As I tip toe across from the small window sill The sweet balmy air is fresh and so mild As I gaze upon my new sleeping child This is such a magical place As the moonbeams play upon her face When I touch her warm soft fingertips A smile is playing upon her lips Carry on sleeping my sweet little girl As I look on my thoughts are a swirl I hope that your dreams are gentle and sweet As ten tiny toes I count on your feet May His grace descend on your little soul? Bring you great joy and make your life whole And when you are older perhaps fully grown May you rejoice in the wondrous seeds that are sown? I know you don’t know as I gaze on you here Through this life of thorns I’ll endeavour to steer So when I look down from the heavens above You’ll know that I tried to wrap you in love There there, my sweet please do not wake Carry on sleeping your gentle rest take And then in the morning when the dew does descend We’ll hold you together your mother my friend Jon Mewett |

This is so touching Jon. The love emits in waves from your words. Beautiful thoughts of your baby girl penned wonderful sentiments of her mother, your friend. |

This is a wonderfully touching poem Jon. I can just feel your love for that child and her mother leaping out from your words. Love and hugs, Lizzie "Poetry is the true expression of my soul, it is my ultimate means of communication. It is a rainbow of delight." |

Artist at work here. Absolutely stunning Jon. Jack From day to day, nothing so surely defines the quality of our lives as the unwavering affirmation in the eyes, in the voices, in the presence of our friends. It is through them that we truly begin to know ourselves; and it is their affection that assures our dignity and worth. - Robert Sexton |

Jon, This is one of the most love filled poems I have ever read. It warmed my heart so much to feel the love here. Such love is so rare these day. Sheila ...the earth and myself are of one mind. The measure of the land and the measure of our bodies are the same........... Joseph, Nez Perce Chief |
