Give and Take Every single flower in bloom Every year has need For subtle kiss of honey bee To carry on its seed The slightest brush against its parts A soft and delicate touch To carry forth life-giving dust And propagate as such All fragile garden blooms depend On bee's dispersing power While honey bee in truth depends On nectar from the flower Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 01-18-2000).] |

Great poem, Elizabeth! Teaches a little about nature...how some things are interdependent, like bees and flowers. Very good work! "Weird?! No, 'weird' is when you apply your human rules to where they shouldn't be applied. That's why it seems strange to you." --Ttark |

This is beautiful Liz. I love the circle of life. We have a plant that blooms in spring it's called a Dead Horse Lily, it has a smell like you know what and is propagated by flies-- |

It reminded me of life, of course. Bees take from the flower, and in turn so does the flower from the bees. A cycle of life. JOY |

Liz, as ever I stand in awe of your poetry. This is beautiful, like all of your poems. I love it! I think I'll order another drink from the bar and settle down and look for some others!
