Had I Known.... Had I known that the heart breaks slowly, dismantling itself into unrecognizable fragments of misery.... Had I known the heart would leak emitting it's ache with a vulgar visisbility Into the dress-up dining rooms of strangers..... Had I known that solitude could stifle the breath, loosen the mind, and force the toungue against the palate..... Had I known that lonlieness could permeate, winding itself around the body in an omnious and beautiful cicatrix..... Had I known- I still would have loved you. Your brash and violent beauty, Your heavy comedic face And your knowledge of sweet delights. But from a distance I would have left you unfrequented for the delectation of those who Wanted more and could care less.... |

This is very good. If there were only a way to "know" some things in advance we would certainly have more options. Sheila ...the earth and myself are of one mind. The measure of the land and the measure of our bodies are the same........... Joseph, Nez Perce Chief |

This poem is excellent, I loved the way you described the feelings, I especially loved: "Had I known that the heart breaks slowly, dismantling itself into unrecognizable fragments of misery.... Had I known the heart would leak emitting it's ache with a vulgar visisbility Into the dress-up dining rooms of strangers....." Brilliant display! |

I can only repeat what Sheila and Lost have said. Beautifully written. ...Give me the strength to walk the soft earth, a relative to all that is.... Black Eagle Oglala Sioux holy man |

Beautiful words written with such feeling. May your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out. Irish proverb. |

An excellent piece of art, the portrait of your heart. I will be looking for more of your work. |
