Flying I've experienced more than once or twice, And readily admit that while flying is nice, one cannot expect indefinite elevation; imminent declination invites elimination. Euphoric fantasia this fantasy of flight; one climbs, rolls, and soars to incredible heights. But fueling the fires of exstatic delights, an exhaustable supply of delayed "good nights." The challenge becomes thus to refute the mundane; To inspire to new heights again and again. A formidable task for one flying around, And impossible for one who is left on the ground. The message I see then, becomes quite transparent. Exhilaration of flying, while thrilling, it's apparent, should detract not from reality, with it's persistence; to both feet on the ground, we owe our very existence. |

I like this one. Very good feeling on flying. Sheila ...the earth and myself are of one mind. The measure of the land and the measure of our bodies are the same........... Joseph, Nez Perce Chief |

twinsgd--Not quite sure how I allowed this one to pass me by, but I wanted to say that this is a lovely poem. I can't quite seem to get the hang of flying; I think it's because I keep wanting to keep a foot on the ground for security...... Occasionally though, I do allow my mind to soar. "Unto thine own self be true, and it must follow as the night, the day; thou cans't not be false to any man."---Shakespeare |

I wish I could fly, I can't, I don't know why. My mind is stuck to earth, Maybe cos I lack enough self worth. Lovely poem, I really enjoyed it. Love and hugs, Lizzie |

Thank you Freckles, a foot on the ground is good and a flying mind can be wonderful. BTW...thanks for the help with punctuation and spelling. Lizzie...so pleased you enjoyed this but...."....I lack enough self worth"....this is so sad Lizzie. try closing your eyes and dreaming in flight...it really works. Alicia ...thank you for the kind response. |
