You come to me, you take my hand
You gesture to the sky
You don't say a word, yet I understand
It's time for me to fly

Suddenly I'm not so sure
What if perchance I fall
You'll be there, you reassure
You'd never let me fall

Haltingly, I stretch my wings
Towards the bright blue sky
The wind whispers, my heart sings
Hey look at me - I can fly!!!

I'm floating on the air
I'm soaring through the clouds
As I fly without a care
You look at me, so proud

Your love beneath my wings, guiding me
Urging me higher to touch the stars
Feelings soothe and overwhelm me
And remove from my soul the last bars

My laughter drifting on the breeze, a once forgotten sound
My love I could never thank you, for reminding me to fly
You healed my broken wings, made chains come unbound...
The wind whispers of my love for you and a tear falls from your eye

Ahhhhh! How lovely

I have often dreamt of flying too. Your poem makes it seem possible.

StarrGazer, I was about to ask you to extend that lovely first poem you once wrote. It seems you did and you did it so well ! Very good !

Starr,  Great poem. Now you've got your trilogy, until you write a fourth.
