Flowers, flowers my friend Have you any there for me? Oh, I understand... I was just kidding Why should I want something, Something so wonderful? A friend who would just see The pain hidden in my heart Or mine eyes glistening in the dark Why should you want To see the real me? I see where you're coming from It's hard to be a friend to me I want so much from you It takes time A whole lot of time To take the chance and listen Roll your eyes and chuckle Call and talk for hours Or just stop by to ask "How are you doing, my friend-- How are you doing today?" I thought I had touched you Taken your cares and worries Sharing your pain all this time So that I could help you Get thru the terrible times And that one day You would help me Ease my worry through the day Reel me back when I'm away Dust me off and say, "I am here with you." Yeah, that would be nice But I know it's a lot to ask You can't expect such things from people But don't lose your trust Don't ever give up on us Never lose your hope Don't wallow in sorrow alone For we are always here To pretend we hear Hide away in fear Of this 'friend' coming your way by, Jamie, 2000 |

You will be blessed if you find one "true" friend. Most cannot or will not be there in the way one needs them to. I'm blessed - I have a friend that has been everything to me and ALWAYS been there for me. Only one like that but, that's all I need. Well written and very sad. |

to expect to be understood but have the door slammed in your face instead, and yet struggle to not show your hurt and continue as if it doesnt matter unfortunately we've all been there my friend. |
