Crying inside
But you will never know
So easy to fall
So damn hard to let go

You say you don't want to hurt me
Can't we just be friends?
Sure, okay give me some time -

Until then I'll just pretend
That everythings okay
But excuse me if I am at a loss for words
Or don't know what to say

I do care about you
And want you to be happy
So I guess this is the way
Things will have to be

I don't think there's many things harder than pretending only friendship which one whom you love. You have written well of that dilema.

Wonderful poem. Yep, I've also been in the same place for quite a number of years. She was my first real love, so I can never completely let go.

Oh yes, I know exactly how this one feels at this time in my life. It's nice to know I'm not alone *sigh* Thankfully we are still friends but every day I look at him and wonder why he can't love me......
