She floats like an angel, light and free as he holds her in his arms. They twirl around the floor so easily, he's enraptured with her charms. He in his suit of gray, she in her primrose dress, their laughter fills the room, touching all, a sweet caress. His eyes shine like the stars as he gves her a smile and wink. She giggles uncontrollably and her cheeks turn hues of pink. To her he's so big and stong, to him she's fragile and sweet. To all they're a sight to behold as she stands dancing on his feet. You see, she's only three years old, she's waited so long for this chance, and this is the daddy she dearly loves who spins her, in her first dance. I never had a dad like this so I don't know what it truly feels like, but this is how I imagine it. |

WOW....This is a great poem i could picture it. I was kinda suprised when she was only 3 though lol. i'm sorry that you didn't have a dad like this. I think every little girl should have this moment. I don't remember mine but i'm sure it was there. |

Thanks Fe - that was the idea - not to let on that it is a child and her dad. The first I alluded to that was when I wrote of her dancing on "his" feet. I guess it worked!! [This message has been edited by childomine (edited 03-08-2000).] |

Very cute and delightful poem. Funny, but I was just in the process of writing a poem along similar lines, but just the opposite. I often wonder how it would feel to have a child who was crazy about me. ~Gene |

Childomine, This is the sweetest poem I have ever read. How I too wish I had these kind of memories of a father. Sheila |

this was such a sweet sentiment. it is a shame that so many daughters have not felt the love of their father. i never received it from my biological father, but i was blessed with a wonderful step-father. whom i've always viewed as my real dad. wonderful work! |
