Our mamas should have told us With our first bedtime story, Sometimes the things we love the most, Are only transitory. Then perhaps it would be easier, We would not feel so sad, If we wake up and find we have, No longer what we had. A rich man loses his money, A child his favorite toy; If Mama's done her job, they'll know 'Tis not the end of joy. Material things can be replaced, They are not worth the worry. If we'd lost health or life or love, It would be different story. So don't spend your time in fretting, If things get lost along the way. If you have somone to love you And your health, you'll be okay. Joyce 5/10/01 |

Good poem Joyce. There are so many hard lessons we must learn as we go through life. It takes maturity before we realize love and health are most important of all. Betty Lou Hebert |

This is wonderful wisdom, Joyce, and said beautifully. Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
