Each night at the pub we gather, friends in poetry and prose. We share our innermost feelings; with words and rhyme, we bear our souls. Always a kind word is offered and often a laugh or two. Comfort and support are provided whenever a patron is blue. I tap my glass with a spoon's edge, chiming an "attention all" sound. As the pub quiets, I voice my thanks for allowing me to hang around. A round of drinks for the house, I shout, and happily, the tab is on me. I raise my glass in a toast to each of you, my Corner Pub family. Janet Marie-you were my inspiration for this with your "Hangin at the Corner Pub" piece. |
