Regrets and Disappointments
Oh how they do us affect,
The life that we are living
We're worsened by their effect.

Regrets, there can be many
Because of what might have been,
If we had not been held back
Or given in so to sin.

Disappointments show failure
Things don't satisfy, like they should,
Why are we faced with sadness
When we are expecting Good?

Disillusoned, thus we sigh
Feeling these daggers pierce deep,
Robbing Joy and appetite
And causing us troubled sleep.

Oft' others disappoint us
Working things to their own gain,
With no appreciation
Nor with regard for our pain.

Regrets and Disappointments
How oft' they come home to roost,
Instead of all these mental kicks
We so need Hope's gentle boost.

May we find the Fortitude
To ward off these Twin Demons,
And Endurance, to hold on
To see more joyous seasons.

I can relate to this. All we can do is keep moving forward and not dwell on the disappointments in life...just keep looking for the silver lining!
