(Note: Sunday was a ritual summer weekend cook-out all-out fire up the grill and have some brews day. But my best friends' leaving.) Most of all I'll miss Sundays and afternoons of skipping work Trails blazed at blinding speeds Stories from your colored past The way your dog greets me at the door Many a pizza and beer night Debates about nothing particular Seeing your wife get completely zonked E-mails and home phone calls Visits and long road trips Adventures I can't describe Your grilled to perfection steaks Asking me to be your best man The way your mother-in-law even considers me a part of the family And I never have to knock I'll miss just stopping by Talking about our current problems Calling only to say hello But, most of all I'll miss Sundays. |

This is a nice poem about missing your friend, before he even leaves. Joyce |

It's a painful thing when your best friend goes away. Hopefully your will continue your friendship by mail and phone, if nothing else. Betty Lou Hebert |

This poem was touching. I know how this feels. You're lucky your friend grilled his steaks to perfection, my friend doesn't even know what a grill is....let alone know how to cook. Anyway I liked the poem a lot. Felt it had a lot of deep sentiments within it....I appreciated the poem greatly, and I'm sure your friend will knowing you care this deeply about him. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
