We’ve not spoken for days now
Do you miss me? Do you care?
Was this a momentary feeling
Because for the moment I was there?

Do you remember what you promised
The pledge you swore on your heart
Will this painful love affair
Be over before it can start?

You promised you would be there
I thought you meant it for me
But now I realize you meant
You wanted us both to be free

The words you said were not
The words I chose to hear
I’m sorry, it’s my mistake
I’ve bumbled this I fear

Forget I ever told you that
You were the man of my dreams
For I was just a passing light
A momentary flicker it seems

I’ll smile the next time we meet
And nod as if to say
You’re forgiven for taking my heart
And throwing it away.

Well done!!

Your poetry just gets better but I'd prefer a happy deVine to a sad one.

I can well relate to this, Poet deVine.

Nail to the mast her holy flag,
Set every threadbare sail-
And give her to the god of storms,
The lightning and the gale!

Some of those bumps in the road are much bigger than others, PdV.... Hang in there...

Oh my poor heart. This really hit a little too close to home. You have such talent.

Beautiful deVine. . .

But, don't discount the feeling yet. . . sometimes new love is scary. . . the feelings not yet known. . . we all put out feelers. . .

But time will heal my friend. . . time is all that we have. . .

That which gives light must endure burning

I think that everyone has felt like this...and if they havent then you've explained it well enough so that they dont have too...great job!

Very touching... My heart aches for you during the time you wrote this...

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND
