BIRTHED From comfort into terror - I now seem all alone. But there are people with me, I am cold but also home. The darkness seemed so friendly, The safety seemed so warm. I am plunged into your brightness - Blinding - dry - but somehow home. I would have chose to stay behind, I loved my cozy nest. This new world's much to wide for me I'm bothered, and I'm stressed. Can't you leave me a little longer? Let me sleep a few days more? Your happy smiling chatter Seems to shout and seems to roar. Is this the promised land I felt Deep inside my bones? Is it really worth the trauma the stresses and the groans? But Time is such a tyrant And when the HOUR has come, What matters is where I am going, It's not where I came from. |

Lovely, Change is so hard and sometimes scary. You are so right on, it is only where we are headed that is the important thing! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

You seem to have identified perfectly with the one going through the trauma of birth. I guess Ellie is right, though. It isn't just about that, is it? To love another person is to see the face of God. |

I really liked this poem, Robin. Please post some more? Thanks. "The only thing new in the world, is the history we don't know." |

Great piece of poetry. Welcome. We'll gently guide you in this new home. Grow with us, and never feel alone. Melton PS: I also want to say I liked the perception from a newborn. [This message has been edited by 2dalimit (edited 04-01-2001).] |
