Turn thy sweet face, that thy warm smile, may comfort mine heart, for the lonely shadows, be dark and cold. Herein do I reside, impatient for release, into the glorious light of thy comely presence, but once before thee departs. Does thou not see the longing in mine eyes, the desire of parched lips to kiss thy hand softly, with fervent caress? Though thy station be lofty, far above this humble plane, this love I bear, unaffected and pure, be true to it’s core. Turn then thy step, with graceful surrender, and santified by thy touch, this empty soul be reborn in thy love. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Though the lady carest not, yet by thy love for her thou art sanctified. Enjoyed this, Peg. Love your diversity. To love another person is to see the face of God. |

This reads like some of the classic forms of poetry. Not easy to do and you do it well. Betty Lou Hebert |

Echoes on the classic form. Your timeless style is very difficult to write. You write with great feeling, also. Nice meeting you, Pegasus. Welcome back. "The poet is the priest of the invisible." |

::bowing:: to the "thee" & "thy" master. (I’ll never catch up to thee) An timeless, elegant masterpiece, peg, I do believe this might be your best one, so far. Going back for another read. -wordancer |
