Made with loving hands, our tapestry hangs, Withholding secrets carefully sewn in place.. Held strongly by the will not to let go of the past, Reflecting triumphs and obstacles we’ve faced. Each stitch represents a tear, shed in times alone, Carefully knotted, showing how tightly we’ve held on Even when all seemed so hopeless, a ray of light Would emerge from the many colors we’d sewn. The color red portrays dawning of our morning sun, Green stands for the walks on knolls of rolling grass; Blue paints the sky under which we’d sit and dream.. Grey.. for times of trouble that would quickly pass. White symbolizes the purity of our love, that Seems to grow stronger with each passing day, Aqua reflects magnificence of the ocean deep, Crimson..at sunset when we’d love the night away. Each brilliant color tells of stolen moments in time, Woven together to remain in each other’s heart; A storing of precious secrets that can never be told, But always to be treasured whenever we’re apart. |

What a beautiful tapestry of memory you have stitched, each color more lovely than the last! You know I like this, my friend. To love another person is to see the face of God. |

Exquisite poetic tapestry of a true and lasting love...Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

This is truly lovely Twilah and has inspired me to write a poem about my Grandma's quilt. Thanks for posting it. Joyce |

This was a great read, Twilah. It brought to mind my Grandmother's nimble fingers. How they seemed to fly, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, afghans, doilies, quilts. The last thing she made was a baby afghan, for her first great-grandchild, as she lay dying of pancreatic cancer in the nursing home. We proudly presented it to our son, in February, when our grandson was born. And so her legacy continues. Thanks, I loved it. "The poet is the priest of the invisible." |

This is so good! I have often thought about life as a tapestry and you've described it perfectly. Betty Lou Hebert |

Coyote..thank you for your comment..I am glad that I brought back such a nice memory for you. What a legacy your grand mother left..and that little boy will know one day how much his gr. grandmother loved him.what a lovely story..thanks again.. Betty Lou...I agree with you... I think life is a tapestry, also. If we could just mark all those squares to represent a time in our life, we would see how everything just weaved together into a pattern of our life. I am glad you liked the poem... Twilah (Gloria) |
