Daffodils arrive early To grace the dawning Spring, Late in March they raise their heads As the returning Robins sing! Sometimes called Narcissus, This bulbous plant does thrive, With shades of yellow, pastels and whites, Their colors show Spring’s arrived! Different varieties spring to life, My favorite the Large Trumpet in yellow, What better way to announce the Spring Than with this Trumpeter fellow? 3-19-2001 [This message has been edited by Dennis L. Dennis, Corner Pub seems to be moving very slow today. This is an excellent poem and as Ria and I were out on our adventures yesterday we saw some bulbs peeking their head out to announce the coming of Spring. It is so lovely to know Spring is on its way, beautiful days, beautiful hearts, many friendships will take their starts. Hmm. I just may have to take this line and see if I cant expand on it. I'll let you know my friend. Dawn |

Dennis, you are chronicling spring very nicely with your poems, first on crocus, and then on daffodils. Unfortunately, we have yet to see either, but they will come! I agree that the "trumpeter fellow" is a proper choice to announce spring's arrival. Nicely done. To love another person is to see the face of God. |

Dennis; Another exqisite poem of this joyous time of year! What's next? Hyacinths,I hope, they are my very favorite flower of spring. Their fragrance is so intoxicatingly wonderful! The whole smell of spring wrapped up in one lovely flower! Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |
