Lord, I don't understand why,
These times I sit depressed and cry.
I try to remember things could be worse,
That life is a gift and not a curse.
When I look around the world I see,
The beauty you've planted for you and me.
The Lord has given us two hands to hold,
Those who feel left out down and cold.
We have two legs to carry us through,
All the troubles that befall me and you.
Two eyes to see the beauty all around,
The Good Lord has planted for us in the ground.
Two ears to hear the truth and sounds,
Of all the wonders in His creatures around.
We all need to take a moment to look,
At all the splendor in one little brook.
The drop of rain on a single red rose,
The beauty of snow, when the ground is froze.
Stop! Take a look up in the sky,
Did you see the sunset or did it pass by?
God said, I am like the evergreen tree,
It's leaves never failing, everlasting like me.
We all need to stop and look around,
Take notice of God's love that abounds.
The love for His creation, in which He took care,
To place each and every-one of us here.
He's gently reminding us as we look around,
In everything you see MY love can be found.
So Lord, I don't understand why,
These times I sit depressed and cry.

Dear Becky; You know that I am here if you need to talk. It is real easy to give into the pain, believe me i know. I realize, by Grace, that I have a choice every day, so I choose to be grateful for the pain and the loses and be happy in spite of it all. Try it, it works! Love and Hugs (((((BECKY)))) This is a magnificent poem! Love, Ellie

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

Ellie, thank you sweetheart. This was written a long time ago. Probably 3 years ago, with a bout of depression. It is then I sat down to count my blessings. This poem is a result of those blessings I saw.

I saw all these blessings, yet I couldn't get why I sat so depressed and cried.
Thank you Ellie for you genuine concern and friendship!

I may know the word but not say it
I may know the truth but not face it
I may hear a sound a whisper sacred and profound
but turn my head indifferent.

Becky...(my daughter has that name. ..this poem was beautiful and certainly came from deep within. We do have an awesome God, don't we? It takes something like this poem to bring a smile to our face and remember....when we read the words. Thank you..for sharing.......Twilah

Depression can be like that, can't it, even though we know all the blessings that are ours. Sometimes it just takes time to heal. Great expression, Rebecca!
