Softly do they slumber
in silence of winters cocoon.
Wings tightly wound, yet to unfurl.
brilliance of color waiting, muted,
for Springs sunbeams to reveal.

Surely as meadows will bloom,
and Robins herald their unfolding.
Baren branches buds thus burst
with blossoms of delicate hue.

So shall the dawn awaken,
and gentle warm breezes flow
upon secret niches of spring,
where they sleep, waiting in time.
and as sunbeams search their way
into these sleeping Spring chambers,
to an awakening of enchantments,
the butterflies beauty aroused,
unfurling, delighting in Springs new dawn!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

This is so beautiful Ellie...Spring is a lovely time especially for nature. I would think it's the best season of all.
so nicely written and with spring in your heart.

Ah spring can't wait for it

Don't ever give in, if you do you've lost everything you've ever had and everything you hope to gain, but if you carry on your already winning.

Totally involved in the poem. I pictured everything .. so Beautiful, Ellie.

The beauty of nature is displayed,
not through itself,
but through the creatures
dwelling within its bosom.

Yes ellie...I too cannot wait until spring! I'm just tired of waking up and freezing my buns...hehehe.

You've certainly captured the essence of Spring Ellie

Beautiful writting !

Wow, This poem is so delightful, I can see those butterflies in my mind and they are singing with joyful glee to be finally set free.
