Watching the trees blowing in the wind
leaves and twigs falling to the ground.
Thoughts of you racing through my mind
oh how I wish you were still around.

Remembering the fun we had together
and how you loved me so.
I thought it would last forever
my feelings I would never show.

As a child there was always joy
with lots of laughter and love.
At times you probably wished I was a boy
not your sweet turtle dove.

When you became ill and passed away
I was so sad and full of grief.
My nights and days seemed so grey
yet for you, I know it was a relief.

You are in my thoughts each and every day
and some day we will be together.
So I wrote this poem for you, Dad
to tell you I will love you forever and ever.

Ah, Jos: This is a wonderful tribute to your Dad. How blessed you are to have such a beautiful relationship with him. You must miss him very much. Love, Ellie

Yes, I was very fortunate to have a special bond with my late Father. He was 52 years old when I was born, but for some reason I had a better relationship with him than I did with my Mother when I was growing up.After five sons then finally me, he always said his family was complete after I was born.I miss him terribly, although it is nine years since he died. He was in his 90th year.

I'm sure your father is touched with this piece of work, wherever he may be now. Outstanding! The best poetry comes from the heart!

This is a lovely and sweet tribute. It's hard to let go, but sometimes the most loving thing we can do. I'm sure he appreciates your love.

Yes, a beautiful tribute. We never really know how short those days are going to be.

Very heartwarming poem.
I can relate. My dad passed from this life in 1983.
Hugs,
Deb
