a book of promise...
you, with a candle...
paper-thin words
close to the flame

you shadowed each line
with vague emotions
camouflaged doubts
with flickering feelings

carelessly turning
you breezed through answers
igniting the secret
that hid between covers

and truth, by degrees
burned its way outward
till the story of us

was beyond
recognition

How sad, but well-written! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

beautiful poem...so sad

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.
