Darkness within
the depths of my soul.
No light reaching
my private hell.

I saw you there
behind the mask,
fear and loathing
showing thru.

You despise me
for what I am,
You treat me
as if I didn't exist.

Your words so cruel
to my fragile heart,
no longer will
my world blow apart.

You laughed as my
soul burned away,
the day I died
you came to play.

Play your game
with my life no more.
I am left standing
outside the door.

Don't you see
I once loved you,
but fame and fortune
have made you become
someone you are not.

someone that I don't
even care to know.
so leave now
and don't come back.

to some, the grass always looks greener somewhere else. these people are usually poor judges of character because they are so deeply imbedded within themselves that they don't take time to really see the quality in others.  a very thought provoking piece..nicely done.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

epoet...

I agree with Pegasus...some people think that things are always better elsewhere, I think they just don't appreciate what's right in front of them. Great Job!

Best

BTW...I am from MI too...

Ultimately, it comes down to being happy with how you see yourself, and not worrying about what others see.    It's not so easy though, is it?

To love another person is to see the face of God.

Ah, a heart breaking read...amazing how some people that hold our hearts in our hands, deliberately throw them down and walk on them.  A good written sorrow.
