The confidence
not to avert my eye
in the mirror,
taking in facial flaws
and scrawny skin
and lots more

ancient questions roar:
what am i here for?
do i even serve a purpose?

i only hear the steady rhythm
of my breathing in and out,

flabbergasted at my existence,
yet glad to be alive

More than a ditty, for sure...being glad to be alive is one of the BEST feelings....

Awareness that you are alive and that it should be more than breathing in and out or the beating of the heart muscle is bound to lead you into a more fullfilled and satisfying Life. Keep seaching, your purpose will be revealed! Thoughtful poem.
