I may not write your poem or your song. It is not yours to pen the things I do. 'Tis arrogance to call each other wrong Because I do not think the same as you. The gifts we have will never be the same. Diversity brings richness to the earth. Variety in technique or in fame Does not mean that we differ in our worth. Each thought must find its poet who will write In ways that other people never can. Each gift is given to someone to light The path ahead to guide his fellow man. The form is immaterial to the art. Our goal is for the thought to reach a heart. |

Marilyn; This is lovely and I couldn't agree with you more, that's why there's chocolate and vanilla! Love, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

KC... I agree the world would be a boring place if we all expressed ourselves the same way & had the same opinions, alas, the diversity is what makes for interesting conversation. wonderfully expressed here. Ranea |

Marilyn, There are infinite ways to say the same thing, but each is new for me. You expressed this beautifully. Gene |

Ellie - Thank you. Chocolate and vanilla, eh? May I have a scoop of each? Ranea - Thank you. I wrote this for two friends, both fine poets who write from the heart, but feel inferior because they don't know a lot about form. Gene - Thank you. What you say is true. If it weren't, there would be no more poems to write, would there? Pegasus - Thank you. Wikket - Thanks! Write on! It was my hope to empower. Variety is the spice of life, is my motto, and I think it applies to poetry as well. This is one of your best, in my humble opinion. |
