crabs are screaming
something fierce
the sunburn has started to blister
and momma is sweating over the
boiling pot
the crimson sunset
reflects tired off the waves
the burning bulkhead holding everthing back
standing on the couch blocking the a/c
holding out my arms
observing across the shrimper's dock
motions smooth and methodic
they are cleaning now
and i am flying
i am the flamigo
remember the flamigos
that summer everything painted in fire
feeding on the marshy point far from home
Schicke Point
old German fish camp invaded by the Poles
the Italian bait camp
the pagan feet of a white flamingo
dancing around my dad's barbeque pit
around the hermit crabs
crawling out of their homes
baking on the scorched concrete

Nice poem, I can hear them screaming.

Is it true that crabs/lobsters sream when you put them in boiling water? Sure, wouldn't you?
