Tender is the night for peaceful dreamers,
that bask in the purity of righteous sleep,
cares scattered as dust in the night wind.

These dreams of you that kiss my heart,
surround me with a shield of warmth,
against the chill of harsher reality.

Without your love I would wander,
lost in a maze of worldly discontent,
drifting on a tide of uncertain expectation.

Look upon this dreamer in deep repose,
suspended in a vision of gentle surrender,
rejoice for a love so closely held.

The night is long, and moist with desire,
unslaked in the heat of this misty scape,
my arms embrace you in a lingering caress.

This slumbered kiss I place upon your lips,
lifts me to a higher plane, a deeper meaning,
and the dream becomes my life.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I know a number of people who suffer terrible nightmares from past traumatic experiences in life... oddly, this soothing, calming poem made me think of them... made me think of how priceless a warm, loving dream must really be to those of us who have them. Great imagery and symbolism... I liked this a lot.

ah, this is what dreams are made of...a deep peace and serenity that carries over to calm the turmoil of the awakening day.

Lovely!

Peg; this is so soft and precious, feeling of tenderness and gentle love....

Sweet dreams, Pegasus!  This is really beautiful.  Makes me long to go off to dreamland myself, and I think I shall.
